To migrate to version 6.1, the upgrade path to version 6.0 must have been completed first, applying all considerations from the upgrade guides corresponding to the source version.

End of support for SharePoint Online connections using username and password

As of version 6.1, connecting to SharePoint Online using a username and password is no longer supported. This is because Microsoft stopped supporting this type of authentication in SharePoint Online as of May 2026, so existing connections that use it will stop working.

This affects the following elements, which in earlier versions were the only way to interact with SharePoint from Qflow, when they point to a SharePoint Online site:

• Application parameters of type “SharePoint connection” configured with a user name and password.

• Data domains that use a SharePoint list as their data source.

• Integrations and SharePoint steps that use those application parameters.

To keep integrating Qflow with SharePoint Online, the SharePoint connector must be used, which establishes the connection through OAuth (see SharePoint).

This change does not affect SharePoint Server (on-premise) installations, which keep working with a username and password as in earlier versions.
